The Certification is an instrument that proves that Cikel trades its products from a responsible way and that its native forest are well managed and that it obeys rigorous patterns internationally recognized. This translates the concern on applying the principles that provide its products are from a project that is socially fair, environmentally correct and economically viable.
Aware on the correct use of natural resources, Cikel use processes of extraction with Reduced Impact Logging (RIL) techniques.
Cikel has 5 FSC certificates: 2 relate to the Brazilian Amazon forest management and 3 relate to product chain-of-custody (one multi-site certificate for production and 2 certificates for distribution in the USA and Europe).
Today Cikel is one of the few Brazilian groups that have this forest certification, which attests the adequate use of natural resources. Among the prizes received in recognition for this work, Cikel has the prize CNI Ecology 2001, from the National Confederation of Industries, on the category Ecology / Modality, Cooperative Projects between NGOs and the Industry.
